laptops A laptop computer, or simply laptop (also notebook computer or notebook), is a small mobile computer, which usually weighs 2.2-18 pounds (1-6 kilograms), depending on size, materials, and other factors. Laptops usually run on a single main battery or from an external AC/DC adapter which can charge the battery while also supplying power to the computer itself. Many computers also have a 3volt cell to run the clock and other processes in the event of a power failure.

Laptop Theft: 3 Things You Could Do to Protect

Laptop theft is now one of the talking g points in the world as it is similar to the information theft too. The rate of laptop theft has been increasing over the year. Last year the number of the stolen laptops were 7, 50,000 while the number was 6, 00,000 two years ago. It has been a recent threat that with the theft of laptops, the information saved in those laptops is in most cases cannot be retrieved.

In this situation, a three-stepped strategy of saving data has been introduced in an article by Lamont Wood. I am quoting some key features of this strategy from that article:

“This three-step plan includes: Securing the contents of a laptop with basic encryption methods; recovering a stolen laptop using tracking technology; and rendering a stolen laptop virtually unusable to a thief by installing a simple "kill switch." Let's get started.”

The policy may be reviewed by the authorities to figure out a proper way of protecting data from being stolen. In this world of technology it would not be so hard.
