Kesa Electricals did not have a very good time last year. However, this year, there is perhaps a complete u-turn in the fortune of the company. Scotsman.com reported:
“COMET owner Kesa Electricals today said flat-screen televisions and laptops continued to sell well, as it posted a 62 per cent jump in half-year, pre-tax profits to £39.3 million.
The market for white goods such as fridges, which were less popular last year, has improved this year, and also contributed to profits growth, Kesa said.
Kesa's Comet chain banked retail profits of £4.7m for the six months to July 31.
That compared with a loss of £1.76m for the same period last year, which the company said was down to higher priced goods and tight cost controls.”
Comet's website has become very popular in UK. I just visited the website and saw that in the home page, they have put laptop in an important position. It shows that they are now eager to make more money out of laptop computers. This is good news for the laptop manufactures too. The demand of laptop is increasing worldwide.
laptops
A laptop computer, or simply laptop (also notebook computer or notebook), is a small mobile computer, which usually weighs 2.2-18 pounds (1-6 kilograms), depending on size, materials, and other factors.
Laptops usually run on a single main battery or from an external AC/DC adapter which can charge the battery while also supplying power to the computer itself. Many computers also have a 3volt cell to run the clock and other processes in the event of a power failure.
